SDG – Our Progress

At Ultra Support, we’re deeply committed to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), strategically selecting and ardently working towards four key areas where we believe our impact can be most profound. These areas include eradicating poverty (SDG 1), enhancing health and well-being (SDG 3), fostering gender equality (SDG 5), and promoting sustainable consumption and production patterns (SDG 12). Each goal aligns with our core values and is integral to our mission of forging a path to a sustainable and equitable future.

SDG 1: No Poverty

Targets:

  1. Ensure all staff receive wages exceeding the living wage threshold.
  2. Engage in a minimum of two community outreach programmes each year, aiming for a 10% annual increase in beneficiaries.
  3. Guarantee at least 75% of staff participation in yearly training programmes.

Achievements to Date:

  • We’ve reviewed all staff salaries to confirm they exceed the living wage threshold, committing ourselves to the Living Wage Foundation.
  • For the upcoming year, we have partnered with two local community outreach initiatives: the Melksham and Bradford-upon-Avon Food Banks.
  • Staff have been allocated to training programmes, with ongoing monitoring of participation for the next 12 months.

SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being

Targets:

  1. Achieve 80% employee engagement in wellness programmes.
  2. Reach 90% employee satisfaction with health support services.
  3. Offer 100 volunteer hours or a 10% yearly increase in donations to health projects.
  4. Promote regular physical activity among employees/members to boost health and well-being, lower stress, and reduce chronic disease risks.

Achievements to Date:

  • We’ve devised a list of employee wellness schemes and are actively encouraging staff to join.
  • Annual confidential surveys are being conducted to gauge employee satisfaction with health support.
  • Our team has dedicated over 100 volunteer hours this year to health initiatives, with plans to increase this annually.
  • We’ve secured corporate gym membership discount to support our employees/members in staying active.

SDG 5: Gender Equality

Targets:

  1. Maintain a gender balance of 50:50 (+/- 15%) across all company levels.
  2. Ensure all employees’ annual completion of gender sensitivity training.
  3. Offer support to all employees facing gender-based issues.

Achievements to Date:

  • Our workforce analysis has highlighted a gender ratio of 31% female to 69% male. While this is progressive for a typically male-dominated field, we recognise the need for further improvement.
  • Mandatory gender sensitivity training has been introduced for all staff.
  • We’ve established confidential procedures for reporting and resolving incidents of gender-based violence or discrimination.

SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production

Targets:

  1. Achieve 100% supplier adherence to environmental and ethical standards within two years.
  2. Realise a 25% waste reduction in two years, with an additional 5% reduction each following year.
  3. Shift to 95% sustainable materials in manufacturing within three years.
  4. Ensure 90% of employees participate in annual sustainability education programmes.

Achievements to Date:

  • Our quality management system ensures we audit suppliers, working only with those who meet our environmental and ethical standards, barring unavoidable exceptions.
